Spring 2008
Special to Sun Media   April 16, 2008

After a successful Earth Hour event here in London and throughout Ontario, people are talking about the environment and how the little things we do at home can make a big difference.

E-MAIL: krumleski@lfpress.com

If you're looking to do your part for energy conservation and climate change, then you've come to the right place.

This spring's Energy Guide aims to get you thinking about all of the actions, big and small, you can take to make your home more energy efficient and ready for summer - many of which are eligible for rebates from the federal and provincial governments. You'll find out about Londoners who have taken initiative through the use of solar energy, and how one community is starting to work on neighbourhood-based solutions for rising energy costs. You'll also discover how buying local food helps to reduce energy use and supports our local farmers as well.

Many of these issues are being looked at by the Mayor's Sustainable Energy Council. MSEC has been devoted to gathering comprehensive information and receiving input from businesses and Londoners. Find out what you said the Mayor's Sustainable Energy Council should focus its efforts on in the next couple of years.

We hope you enjoy this timely edition of the Energy Guide.

Think globally, act locally, live comfortably and save money!
